Boy: There is no spoon.. Then you will find it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself…

There is no spoon and what we think is a spoon is our projection.. 

A Zen master is telling his students that the precious gems they’re stopping to pick up or the pretty flowers they’re pausing to collect only have value and beauty in the world they’ve chosen to leave behind. The Tao says ‘beware the flower trappings’ because, in order to possess them or benefit from them, you must cease your journey, stay in the dream. Ultimately, they’re just distraction from the tricky business of waking up. Breaking free of delusion takes everything you have. The price of truth is everything, everything. That’s the rule and it’s inviolable. As ones awareness increases one may well develop abilities that seem startling. Yet nothing one can do can compare even in the slightest with the glorious surprise of remembering who one is. Let all the learning and all the efforts be directed toward this one great final surprise, and you will not be content to be delayed by the little ones that may come to you on the way.
