Wake up movies

To understand the awakened state and to help wake up there are a lot of movies one can watch; The Thirteenth Floor, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsl0-ON7P8A is a good place to start, in this movie a German scientist figured out how to create a hologram that one can become part of, like a total immersion movie. But the scientist gets murdered, and his friend and partner (Douglas Hall) want to find out who did it. So Douglas gets in to the -hologram machine- and enters into a hologram of Los Angeles in 1937 where the scientist had left him a clue about his murder. The scene you will watch is Douglas’ first time in the hologram machine. Note how he reacts to being in a hologram and his astonishment at how real it looks and feels to him. Dark City (1998) and Bladerunner is also worth the time. 

A Scanner darkly is one of my favorites it is made by Richard Linklater (he also made the Matrix). The movie captures Philip K Dicks spirit and addresses the alienation and sinking so far into your own that reality become a liquid element washing us up onto the shores...
