Books

Don't get ten books, get one good one and read it ten times. I know because I've read just about everything ever printed on this subject and most were garbage, vendors selling tomatoes from an empty cart. Nisagardatta and Ramana Maharshi are my favorite. They are useful, just don't waste your time on anything to do with karma, astrology, runes, Angels, I Ching.... You can forget anything on Buddha, Islam or Christianity, because they have been completely bastardized by interceders and interlopers over time. Some Sufi poetry is very good. Please completely ignore anyone who makes a big noise about being enlightened or wants you to be their 'devotee'. Devote yourself to your SELF and figure it out yourself. You have everything you need right where you are. If you sense a book/author has an ulterior motive, avoid him. There are only a few that are genuine and will give you what you need. Keep in mind everything you have read, heard, done, studied, etc. was to bring you to this moment and can now be thrown away... now what are you going to do about it? Can you do anything about it? Think long and hard until you give up. God is either all or nothing, what's it going to be? Your perceptions, hopes, dreams, beads and mantras won't change a thing, period. What is true? Could it be that simple?
