Something more, Something else.

Are you constantly wanting something more, something else? That is the normal state of functioning for most humans. However, if you look directly at that movement of wanting, you come to see that it is intrinsically tied to your sense of self, especially when you are attached to specific outcomes in your life. This attachment is suffering. The very act of wanting often carries with it an attachment to outcomes. And because the mind grasps towards this attachment, the wanting brings suffering. Suffering is not just referring to intense physical agony or mental and emotional depression. Suffering is a desire to change or escape present experience as it is. When there is an attachment to outcomes, there is usually some form of resistance to what is.
